Barre is an innovative class using the principles of ballet, modern dance, and Pilates in order to achieve poise, strength, flexibility, balance and a strong core. Barre combines the amazing results of dance with the principles of strength and safety in Pilates. This total body workout serves to strengthen and lengthen resulting in a long and lean physique…without the add bulk.
Classes run approximately 45 minutes and no dance experience is required. A portion of the class is spent at the barre executing various leg exercises and stretches. The remaining portion of the class is spent on the mat incorporating core and upper body work. We’ll target specific problem areas like the glutes, abdominals, arms, and thighs. Barre is a excellent complement to Pilates Reformer and mat classes. Give it a try and develop the length of a dancer and the strength of an athlete.
